Has anyone here dealt with or heard anything on hondaparts-direct.com?

They have a new carb for the rebel for around $303. That's about $70 cheaper than BikeBandit. With all my problems with a rich running bike I'm very tempted.

I'll tell you next week ;)

I need an ignition switch for the Valk (don't ask). Honda wants 90+ bucks and three weeks.

Bike bandit wants 54 dollars and two weeks.

Hondaparts-direct.com wants 38 bucks and I'll have it middle of next week.

Maybe. Never tried them before; thanks for the heads-up!

I ordered some stuff from them last year for an old Scrambler 175. All was shipped and received in days exept one odd ball part. Took about a week. I will use them again.

Almost forgot:

as most folks are aware, I got my switch Thursday afternoon. Genuine Honda part, genuine Honda part numbers, stickers, and tags-- even a pre-paid express return package and label in case there was a problem.

Big thumbs up on promptness and consideration. Minor deductions for the packing materials to fill the box for shipping, though. While I'm used to things like peanuts, bubble wrap, plastic grocery bags, etc---

a fast food wrapper (smelled lightly used) and someone's old receipts can't be appropriate under the best of circumstances...

Other than that, price and promptness alone would steer me to them again. The missed the chance to sell my completely by using my package as a dust bin. I fully accept that it may have been some weird honest mistake, but it is slightly off-putting.

No dust bin treatment here. Although, it did take 8 days to get the order. It came UPS.

Good to hear! (mine came regular post-- it was small. That may be the difference in shipping time; I can't say).

Condition? Pricing?

Well my luck just isn't holding out.

Finally got my carb yesterday. No indication that it was sent on their website and no email with the tracking number.

Like an excited kid I opened up the box and immediately noticed something was wrong.

The warehouse shipped the wrong carb! Ugg..

Luckily for me they had the correct one in stock and I should get it in 4-5 days.

Well that's a shame.

They did really well by me, anyway.

Maybe if they'd advertised a little...

I've been online for _years_, and I'd never heard of them till this thread. :(

Well their customer service called and I have a tracking number but it hasn't been picked up by UPS yet.

Yea it's a shame. Even with the issues I've had they seemed to have decent customer service.

I was thinking to myself if I had only found them early and posted 6 months ago they might not be going out of business.

I got the correct Carburetor yesterday and dropped it off to the mechanic. Picked the bike up at lunch, running good. :D

Sad this place went out of business. :(

I was so happy with these guys that I recommended them to my FLIBS. He tried them for customers wanting OEM parts. He's been so happy with price and service that he's getting set up on a dealer-type account (graduated pricing, etc).

Hey, I just checked the site and they have a big banner that says
Quote:
ATTENTION! WE ARE CLOSED AND WILL NOT BE TAKING ORDERS AT THIS TIME.

You guys shut them down! Who's it feel to purchase their very last parts!

Seriously, I wonder why they are closed...

Rats! They listed the older parts for 80's bikes, and were price effective.

The next cheapest outfit used to be www.discounthondaparts.com in NY; I don't know if that is still true though. It looks like the powersports corp (or whatever they are running many of the OEM parts software webpages) has pretty much standardized pricing.

They are back in business, based in Texas.

Their shipping is kinda high $8-12 for "normal orders".

I ordered 4 air filters for the CRF230L last week as they were the cheapest:

PRODUCT INFORMATION:
Mfg Product Number: 17211-KFB-000
Description: ELEMENT, AIR CLEANER for 2009 Honda CRF230L
Order Quantity: 4
Unit Price: $19.83
Total Cost: $79.32

ORDER TOTALS:
Item Total: $79.32
Tax: $0.00
Shipping: $10.74
Order Total: $90.06

The riding that I'm doing is consuming an air filter every ~2500 miles. I should have changed the last one a few hundred miles ago, as I had a new one in the garage.

That's why I want a couple new ones in the garage for the first time I oil-foul/clay-load these dang paper element critters.

I should have added that they respond when items are backordered:

John,

The parts you ordered are on backorder with Honda until 10/6. As soon as we receive them, we will ship them to you.

Well, I'm chasing a new clutch cable for the NX250. I figured that Bike Bandit would be the best because their shipping used to be the least.

Wrong! Bike Bandit has a shipping minimum of $8.95. Hondaparts-direct has a $10.74 shipping charge for orders under $99.

It was cheaper to get one lousy clutch cable from Hondaparts-direct, as the cable was $4 less from them.

Interesting. I was registered with them when they closed up shop. I just logged back in, and my password still works. They even had an item in my wish list. They don't have a number for one of the parts I need though.
