but it's nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks like this every time I see someone tear a plastic top off of a plastic bottle...

Its no coincidence that one of the most popular bottled waters is "Evian". Just spell it backwards..... ;)

A couple of years ago I was in the checkout line at a gas station / quickie-mart, and the guy in front of me actually left in a huff because they didn't stock his brand of bottled water!
His... "BRAND"!!
The only reason that I'm not a millionaire is that I can't work up the chutzpah to take advantage of idiots like this, while keeping a straight face!!

Remember when Slick 50 was over $70/pint? The fact that this stuff is still on the market 20+ years later is astounding.

Well, not really.

Within a DAY of me posting here my reply mocking the morons who spend a fortune for bottled water, I have started getting LOTS and LOTS of advertisements, on MANY different websites, advertising home delivery of a specific brand of...
Bottled water!!!
I'm a "knuckle-walker", trapped in the 21st Century, for better or worse....

Also of no coincidence: both of those words --- as well as the product itself --- are French.

They might not know how to fight a war but they sure know a thing or two about making a buck. :D

Aquafina has expiration dates on their caps. If you find yourself so inclined to buy bottled water, you'd better make sure it hasn't spoiled.

What I _do_ remember about Slick 50 was being at my favorite FLIBS (Liberty Cycle in Hinesville, Ga), hanging out and chatting with the crowd while the owner was explaining to a customer that the problem with his Honda 750 was, in fact, the use of Slick 50. Seems his clutch wasn't engaging because he had teflon-coated his clutch plates.

I know-- it's not nice to giggle at someone's misfortunes, but come _on_; this was so _obviously_ a bad idea before he had even done it!

Right. After that date, you can really start to taste the charcoal filt-- uh... pristine virgin spring from which it is delicately scooped....

"Out-of-date" bottled spring water needs to be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner! You would not BELIEVE how many "Earth-Haters" simply dump it out!
PLEASE report to the EPA ANYONE who DOESN'T take their expired bottled spring water to an approved hazmat disposal site!

It's hard to imagine anyone being that irresponsible in 2015. Nowadays expired water can be safely recycled for non potable uses that will keep it out of our landfills.

I hate the idea of di-hydrous oxide being spread around like that. It should all be disposed of "out beyond the environment".
