-40 is extremely rare on the east coast of Canada. We've hit -23 this winter so far and that felt bad enough for me. Very likely we'll be below -30 next month.

Yeah you're right, not typical but not unheard of either.

Well it's 32º/0C here, bright and sunny. It's like I've always said, even the sports book odds makers never touch the trend here about having rare precipitation coupled with even more rare freezing temps. Once per ten years, and it last happened in 2008/2009 New Year's weekend.
