This thread is for write ups and pictures of Bob's trip.

It will remain locked until Bob actually _starts_ his trip ;)

This thread is now unlocked, as Bob is going to start traveling soon. Please-- if you post here, keep it relevant to the thread. There is already a thread for idle chit-chat and banter on the subject of Bob. For the most part, your questions will likely be addressed to Paul, as this is his baby ;)

Paul had hoped to have Bob ready to ride in time to let him ride out of snow country to Texas with a friend, so that Bob could winter on the unfrozen roads of the sunny South. Unfortunately, a series of events and timing problems prevented that.

He has decided to let Bob travel instead by mail truck, and has asked me if I would run him on his first leg of _real_ travel ;) I am honored, and proud to do so,

however--

like most folks, even those of us in the South wait till cold weather to do big maintenance, and as a result, I'm down to two bikes, only one of which I can really take outside the county this time of year (the other one has no tag light or rear lights of any kind. Sun drops fast once this daylight wasting time kicks in), and it needs some work itself. I don't really want to run it more than a hundred miles-- a hundred and a quarter, maybe-- in any one direction until it can get a good going over. This is not worry about its condition, but to minimize the amount of issues with my wife should she have to drag a trailer out to where I am ;)

So anyone willing to meet up within roughly two hours of here, give a shout, and we'll get Bob a-movin' once he shows up.

If you're considering picking him up, you might want to go ahead and figure out who and where you're going to hand him off; that might help you decide whether or not you want to pick him up from me, or wait till some other chance ;)

Here's Bob. He's getting ready for his Thanksgiving meal where he'll get stuffed! ;-)

And here's Bob getting Stuffed!

Finally, here's Bob holding one of his new patches! Yes, you can't see the image of the patch very well just yet... It's still a surprise! When Bob gets his frist photos with Duke, I'll post the proof image of the patch image artwork I received from the stitchers just prior to stitching. See if you can spot any differences when you receive your patch! :-)

Have Fun with Bob. You can do pretty much anything you want as long as your don't destroy him or post images of you and him in perverted positions ;-). Have fun dressing him (no purses please), posing him and taking him around to all your friends for photographs!

And here's to wishing Bob a Safe and enjoyable journey across these Great States and Beyond!

Thanks everyone in advance for your participation in this Rally!

Just a quick reminder to keep the trip planning to the Signup thread and generic Bob Banter to the Bear on a Bike thread. This thread should only be used by those who have Bob with them and wishing to post his progress. Thanks.
