If you post a pictre in your topic can other people see them. I have some new bike tecknal questions and a photo is worth so much more to show a issue or a question. Im really new to the forum. I know there is a #of posts and time thing.

This particular bit of security was done away with when we made the software switch-- lots of complaints, in spite of the fact that it worked wonderfully.

Right now, you can post pictures as soon as you join. This thread still exists because, given the (predicted) leap in the spam problem with the dropping of this feature, it may well be reinstated.

Suggestion: if possible allow anyone with a minimum number of posts to remove offensive or spam posts. That allows all users to share the work. More eyes to spot them. Spammers will loose some interest if they go to all the work of posting only to have it deleted within seconds. Removed posts would be subtracted from the user's count so they could never become one with enough authority to remove posts.

Not a bad idea, at least not initially.

There's the possibility of abuse by someone who gets miffed by someone else, of course..

Though perhaps the ability to move or hide them somewhere harmless until one of the admin team could go through them and make the final delete or restore....

I'll have to think on that a bit....

Well, now I know why I can't post a photo. Been here since June 16th, 2009 (couple of months shy of 7 years), this is my 74th post.
They say a picture is worth 1000 words, I guess I've not yet cracked 1000 (though I'm pretty sure I have- must be some other "mile marker").
At least I feel better that it's an intentional thing on your part, that it wasn't the result of my tech stupidity. My tech stupidity will be in full play later on, I'm sure. Photos are not something I have much of a burning NEED to post, just seems a curious situation.

Spam doesn't stay up very long on here. One of the mods will come along on a regular basis to clean up and ban any offenders.
