All,
I have to change my rear Tyre every 3-4,000 miles . Is this the max I can get ? Anything else I can do to make it last longer ?
Thanks

It's the soft compound tires that don't last long. They offer better grip when they're good but wear quickly.

I've had good results with Bridgestone Exedras, I end up having to replace them due to age and not wear and I've gotten well over 20K miles out of a set before replacement and they still have boatloads of tread depth remaining. While the tire does not excel in any field (aside from longevity ;) ), it handles most environments well enough.

I was regularly getting 8K miles on the rear with these:

I get around 12000 touring miles on the Michelins I use on my BMWs. If a Rebel is wearing out tires in 4000 miles, You might want to try a brand name cruiser tire as Shack suggests. The cheapest tires are not necessarily the least expensive.

I can attest that the stock Dunlops that have been coming on Hondas in the past decade are among those soft compound/short lifespan variety. Case in point: the untitled 2012 Rebel I picked up in recent years had 2800 miles on it, I swapped those wheels/tires over to my 96 and after 1K miles the wear bars were exposed on both ends. Suffice it to say I swapped them back. ;)

OEM tires are typically crap on both bikes and cars. I recall the original tires on my BMW K bike lasted 8000 kms. Replacements went 20,000.

Bridgestone Exedras are what I recieved as OEM with my then-new 97 purchase. Somewhere along the line they started switching to Dunlops. In fact I recall hearing that it was a regional thing...some areas got the Bridgestones and others got the Dunlops. But now all of them get Dunlops.
