Guba, since you eyeballed the blue Marsh,

Is that the muffler sitting behind the front tire? The bronze cyclinder?
Do you know what the blue tank under the passenger seat is?

The bike itself does not have springs, but the passenger seat does. Still can't convince SW the passenger seat can sometimes provide the better ride.

RW I think that is the muffler under the front wheel. The tank behind the seat holds the battery. Check out the green Marsh, it has springs on the passenger seat as well as the riders seat, maybe SW will like it better?

 Steve you go for it! And don't forget to line your pockets with plastic bags too! rofl

Done.
And no need to apologize; we all do that from time to time. Besides, it makes you sound Canadian, and people will therefore make fun of you. :D

Joanie, you're not the problem. There's some kind of glitch in the Submitting part of the posting process for this forum. One of the monitors will take care of the duplications.

The trick to posting here is:

-- submit your post

-- IGNORE the error message

-- click on the top right corner where it says something like
"click here to return to main page" (give it a few seconds for this to happen)

-- then check to see if your post is where you intended it to be.

Can you imagine it as a huge mural on the wall? Especially on the first wall you'd face after coming in from yard work in 90 -100 degree weather?

Guba, don't you think the rafts would sink with all the bikes on it?

You know that Harley's can't ride on water. Oil .. maybe.

What? You mean to say they don't have rafts big enough for the bikes!?

Joanie for some reason I have to post like SW says to post. Not sure why, but this forum never has been kind for access. I tried joining back in '07 but my computer wouldn't display any pages. I'm just happy I can post even with the error messages.

I have several pictures and stories in mind for future postings. I've been hampered by the needs of every-day-life, and ....... I'm easily side-tracked.

Received an email a couple of nights ago, roundabout midnight our time. It was titled, "Guess what I did?"

It came from Purple. (We refer to her this way because RW's sister shares her first name and it avoids confusion in our house. Also, I don't want to call her frog) I'm talking about Purpleazfrog of AZ.

She's gone and bought a new motorcycle !! A big one. The email included 2 pictures and few details. I was afraid she'd traded in her 450 .. AFTER having so much work done on it to the point (I thought) it's now in near perfect condition. I checked the time and figured with 3 hours difference, she might still be awake.

Well, we're fast friends since our initial meeting at the first SideWinder rally. 2008, I think. We chatted about everything, thus getting off-track of my reason for calling.

All I can remember of the motorcycle part of the conversation ..

- it's a Victory (I think)
- it rides like a Cadillac
- she expected to feel the extra weight, but doesn't
- she didn't trade in her 450
- hubby has fallen in love with the 450, and she believes she's lost it to him.

Help me here, Purple. Posting the 2 pictures would be nice too. Especially the one with the self-satisfied semi grin on your face. Hah! Don't blame you.

Howdy Ya'll!
Each year I keep saying next year, next year, next year.... Credit cards, truck payment, hubbys bike payment....
Well, two of the 3 were paid off and we need to wait a bit longer to see if we will be buying a camper. We just went to see if hubbys bike was ready for pick up and it wasn't. Decided to look around before we went home which I normally do. Never intended to buy one that day or even a new one for that matter. After much debate I threw in the towel and rang the bell!
I am now the proud owner of a 2014 Victory Cross Roads Classic 1700.

And yes, Leatherneck has pretty much taken over the 450. He has had some health issues which are getting better finally.
I think he feels a bit more confident on the 450 at the current time. Besides I see a bit of the wild side in him on it..
He seems to be enjoying it a lot!

Still getting used to the new one. Very much bigger and handles a whole lot different. I got 50 miles on it so far.
Going to head out to Wickenberg (about 60 miles away) in the morning for breakfast. Gonna be a great ride. I feel like I could sit in the saddle for miles and miles on this one. You are right SW, rides like a cadillac! Turn on the cruze control, sit back and enjoy the ride!

@ Purpleazfrog, Love the bike, and it's a bagger to boot! :clap1: I also love the paint scheme, definitely a head turner. Congrats on your new acquisition.

Purple, I understand both health issues and the aging process.

I've got about 1750 miles on my "new big bike" and am loving it.

However, the heat only works in the summer and the A/C only works in the winter. :D

Your bike looks great.

However, I bet that I'll get better gas mileage.

Congrats to all the new owners.. John, as a recent convert to the dual sport world, I like the looks of your 500. My 1200GS is a bit heavy for real offroading, but it is great fun to ride.

Duckster, the CB500X is NOT a dual sport bike. It is a pavement pounder with a tad more front fork movement and dual sport ergonomics. An ideal street bike for me.
