At this time, sounds good to me and Marie. I do believe we will be able to make it. Unless something would change.

I believe that we should go ahead and lock in this date for the Spring Rally, and as SW suggested I will go ahead and start up a thread to keep track of the plans.

If anyone has any alternative suggestions to the hotel plans, please let me know. We have some time to finalize where we actully stay, but I want to get the dates out so folks can mark their calendars.

whoa, you're a fast worker, Greg.

In changing the subject heading .. I meant asking Duke or wheezeburnt, or whoever else has the ability to go in and change previous posts .. so it reads Andrews NC 2012 or the like .. from Spring Southeast Rallies.

The present title is confusing for some in trying to find info on an Andrews meet.

And, really .. I was trying to avoid an additional thread. We ended up with 3 or 4 last year, with the same "name", though a couple held 2 or 3 non-essential comments (oooh, someone's gonna get mad at me) .. that it drove me crazy trying to find the main thread. When going back on history, it drives me even crazier. Since I'm very much the average person .. meaning my thought processes have a tendency to fall with the majority .. I believe a number of others may share this "craziness".

My unique-ness might be that I vocalize (yea, yea .. I know, I've got mouth) and I'm not afraid to take a stand after mulling over accumulated info. So here, goes ... from the info I've got.

date ... ... May 17-20

hotel ... .. Quality Inn, (used to be Country Hearth Inn) Andrews
... ... ... .. And nearby campground

rates .. .. $70 with 10 rooms. (Was $89 with 15 rooms)
... ... ... .. campground fees unknown at this time

To Do:

1. contact forum guru to change subject title of existing thread.

2. delete the new thread begun today.

Okay, I welcome debate here. Well, not really .. but input from ralliers would be nice.

AtlAggie, Jim pointed out a boo-boo that you & I, in our zeal, failed to notice.

May 18-20 is the normal rally period. Check in Friday. Check out Sunday. NOT 17-20.

(We, RW & I, will probably check in Thursday so RW can have his nap. You know how these buff .. cough, cough, .. old folks need their naps)

Jim's okay with the hotel. He thought we may have been meaning to have it earlier .. when he knew that rates run cheaper in most hotels.

While it is true that we never plan any formal activities until Friday afternoon, some folks (including me) like to arrive Thursday night. There might even be an informal ride to lunch (or a casino) on Friday for the early arrivals. I did not want to imply that anyone has to get there Thursday, but I also want everyone to know that if they do get in early, some of us will already be there. :cycle:

Meandered up to the casino this past weekend. Ate lunch in the Food Court on the 1st floor.
It's a typical one with multiple vendors.

We split a meat lasagna with breadsticks. A bit pricey at $9. But very good.

Made up for it with 3 refills on the sweet tea .. which cost $2 per cup.

Avoid buying the bottled stuff in the vendor area. Add $2 for a drink when paying for your food.
A drink station with multiple choices is located in the seating area.
(There is no sign to indicate that drinks are available pass the cashier)

Me too, weather permitting, i am thinking about camping for the weekend just up the road! I have a big trip plan, leaving 1st week of June, and on the road for a month. I am looking forward to meeting up with everyone! Always a great time!

Dang, Steve, why camp out? You live just up the road! You planning to camp at Nantahala? Seems a little bit distant to me. Might as well pitch a tent in your backyard! As for me, I really can't pass up a porch like that.

You are goin ridin for a whole month? Cool!

Will
