I live in Phoenix, and have ridden my Rebel to Tortilla Flats many times, and parked it right beside all those Harleys. Never got laughed at or put down. But that is pretty much a winter only activity, it is too miserably hot to enjoy it in the summer, at least for me. Heat has a negative effect on me, and I can just see myself running over the edge of a cliff.

On that road, 25 years ago, is where I came closest to meeting my maker. I was riding an '86 Ninja 600, headed toward Tortilla Flats, when I met an old geezer in a huge motorhome coming around the mountain from the other direction, IN MY LANE. I missed it and the cliff by a matter of inches.

Just got my Rebel, first bike, in October. I ride every day to work and just started taking the 10. With a little more highway driving, Tortilla Flats sounds like a good journey.

New Rebel owner here in east Mesa. This is my first motorcycle. I chose the Rebel because that's what I rode in the BRC at TEAM Arizona and I really liked the bike. I've been to Tortilla Flats in a car before but not by motorcycle. Seems like it would be more fun on MC :)

There is a longer ride planned for June. See the Sidewinder thread. Starting at and returning to Apache Junction.

Ya think?

I've decided that I'm a wuss, and I think that I'll refuse to ride more than 350 miles/day on an enduro. I was glad to get home today after 338 miles. Pics on the sidewinder thread.
