The Chinese restaurant next door is closed so plenty of parking there.....and probably enough room here, depending on how full things get for the weekend.
We watched the hot air balloons inflate and take off this morning.......right here beside our room !!
Also there is a Victory Motorcycle Ralley here......soooooo 4 events this weekend...

sorry but I am not going to be able to make it this time. I think my battery is on it's way out and I don't want to chance getting stranded anywhere. make sure to post plenty of pictures.

Home at 10AM without incident.

It was great to see folks that I'd met in two previous Andrews rallys and to meet new people. Thanks to Greg and Becca for a fun (but hot) ride yesterday. And a special thanks to Mike for putting this together.

Glad to hear the trip home was uneventful, Ken. It was good to see you again. I'm sorry about the heat yesterday, but I hope you enjoyed the roads anyway.

I made it home with the bike by 1:00 PM with no problems. Becca has unfortunately been delayed by several shopping diversions, and she and the truck have not made it home yet!

Howdy from The Pass! Rolled into my shop at 4:20 central time. Left the corner where Steve and Delbert and Marie met up when they did, I think around 8? Eastern? Not sure, but at any rate, around nine or ten hours for 500 miles, including breakfast at the "Top o' the Slab". (That's the name me and my buds had in my younger days for the Waffle House at 400/19 and 60, where the highway starts to look like the superslab.) Not a bad little cruise, yes?

Super weekend! Thanks to all.

It was good to meet and ride with you, Will, and I'm glad to hear you made it home safe and sound!

I wanted to thank you also for the one-liner that was the quickest and funniest comment I heard all weekend (except of course for Andy's threats to whip Madeline) ....

When the two hot air balloons were going up at the same time, and it looked like they were going to bump into one another, Will noticed how the shadow of one balloon was shading the other. Will's instant comment was "Look, it's a ballooner eclipse!"

Spoke with the lady at Jenny's Creek, and she said, "That's all right, Hon, don't worry about it. We weren't that busy anyway." Mighty nice of her. She sounded a little bit pleased and surprised that I even called at all. What could have been an unpleasant aftertaste to an otherwise wonderful rally turned out to be a pleasant conversation with a very nice lady. Cool!

I thought I'd post a few of my pictures from Helen. Here is one of the five Rebels that actually attended and rode with us. From the left, that is Daryl's, Will's, SW's, Marie's and Shai's. Then, behind the five Rebels were the three Vulcan 900s (Steve's, Greg's & Logan's).
:

The Rebels from behind:

One of the neatest things about this rally was that our hotel was next door to the field where the balloon festival was taking place. Every morning and every evening, more teams were in that field launching their balloons. This is a picture of Andy taking a picture, with at least four balloons being launched at once:

These two, as one shaded the other, were the source of Will's "ballooner eclipse" comment"

I have to post at least one picture of my favorite balloon, "Miss Daisy" (the team's trailer carried the slogan "Flying Miss Daisy" rofl

More pics! Anybody got pics? I saw you! Taking pics! Post 'em! More pics! What about the ones from the top of Richard Russel? What about the ones where we ate burgers and meat ball hoagies and met Canadians who didn't say Eh? What about the pictures from the Bar-B-Q place where they had the grunting car and we fixed Shai's loose chain? How about some from Field of the Woods?

I'd really like to see the pictures from the Skinny Dippin! Oh, wait, ahem, we weren't supposed to mention that. Sorry. Maybe we could pm those.

OK Helen people, I saw you. Taking PICTURES! With Cameras, and Cell Phones, and everything!

Come on now, Give it on up!

Six bikes headed out Friday morning with the intention of meeting up with Logan and riding back with him. Partway, we learned that Logan was closer to meeting with Delbert, Marie, & David .. so we decided to do our own ride since he now had company.

Fields of the Woods in Murphy, NC.
- a 30' x 50' bible at the top of the mountain with an interior stairway and a 50-person overlook atop of it.
- the Ten Commandments are displayed in 4'wide x 5'high letters on the entire slope beneath the bible.

That's Bighillwill to the left .. AtlAggie to the right. And GrinRebel was somewhere to the far left, reading the commandments and trying to decide if there were any left that he hadn't broken yet. Didn't look good. Madeline kept shaking her head.

Bighillwill .. SW .. GrinRebel .. Madeline .. AtlAggie .. Stevenmrvl .. (RW on camera)

Turners Corner Cafe, where we ate burgers & meatball hoagies .. and met Canadians who weren't saying "eh" because they were practicing "y'all". One commented before he drove away that it sounded cute.

Kenindalton .. Mike750 .. 1/2 of DWA5591 (Delbert) .. Bighillwill
fixing the loose chain on lilspeedy31's Rebel 250.

The red/yellow car to the right made pig sounds .. grunting. This was the parking lot of the barbecue joint for Saturday's lunch stop.
