So there you go, I'm not sure how I missed Jim's Rebel in the single bike shots, because I liked what he did with the M90 Yamaha seat on his Rebel. I hope a good time was had by all, I know I enjoyed the company the short time I was there, and SouthernWahine made me feel right at home. Oh yeah speaking of that did you get Wally's recipe for the cucumbers? I waiting for it and your Salad recipe!

Hey, guys & gals of the Cave City rally .. how about dropping Wally a quick phone call or email note .. telling him what you thought of his participation in our rally.

The following are 2 excerpts of email exchanges between Wally & me.

WALLY's WORDS

I tell ya,,,,,,,it was like a cemetary here after all those Rebel's left here... GOSH!!! I hate to say this ,,,,,,but ,,I REALLY MISS ALL OF THEM!! I just love all those people... I just think so much of ALL of them. Just a very wonderful group of people.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

That was one heck of a dinner we had! I really love to do that dinner, but It was just a little too much for me to do with all the cooking and then trying to take care of all the other services to the group. I really paid for it on sunday morning,,,,, for some reason,, around 9:00 am, I had twisted my back somehow, and i been laid up till today. For a few days,I could not even walk, and just today, I could put on socks on my feet, so the other days, I could not even bend over at all. Not exactly sure just how I did it,,,,,but I sure messed myself up pretty bad. DO ya think it might be old age??? I think I am over it now,,,but I sure did suffer the past week.

I will send you that recipe for that cucumber salad.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

BUTCH .. will send it to you when I get it. Might take a little while for both, since neither has "directions". Both created by the individual cook.

uhh .. Butch .. from where I sat at the Pig .. looked as though a particular
pork chop was delivered down at the end .. maybe next to Davidc83 .. the BMW
owner. It's possible that you may not have seen him over the height of that pork chop.

In the first picture you posted .. the table shot at the Pig .. David is in the
white t-shirt just back of Jim W.

Ok, Now I know who David is. He was talking to the guy who has the Chinese bike about the Bama game. What is the guy's name with the Chinese Bike? Oh by the way David I think I over heard you and Delbert talking about a possible rally in IN. next year, if you do get it together let me know and I'll try to make it. I have a friend that does Upholstery that over the winter is going to do a rework on my seat so that ride won't be that bad for me. :D

Bob, from VA, owns the Chinese bike. It is a 2006 Lifan (a Virago clone)

He does not have a username here. Bob is co-owner of a Virago website.
He'd attended the 1st Cave City rally as well.

Bob is in a black shirt .. right in the middle of the restaurant group .. in front
of David. A picture of his bike .. blue with silver on tank .. is the one by
itself in front of the dog in a dress on a rocker.

When Jim organizes his rallies, he leans toward "a small bike rally" more than
"a Rebel rally" .. although he appears to favor Rebels.

Jim also owns a Virago, I think. Or is it a GZ250? Or both?

I begged this picture off of Guba. The dog, very gentle and affectionate,
was actually baying at this time.

Delbert said, "I bet I'm the only one (host) to get BOB treed"

That was hilarious. I was standing on the other side of the dog at the time the picture was taken. This very friendly dog was checking out everybody as they came out of the restuarant. I guess he was checking for doggie bags!

Then, Delbert and BOB come outside, and this very friendly pup starts sounding like a hound with a raccoon up in a tree :!:

Hello everyone! I somehow stumbled onto this thread on a Google search. Caught my eye. Then when I got to the page with the pictures, I saw an all too familar site. Porky Pig Diner! I pass that place almost every day I go to work. My wife and I live just a few miles from it. My wife is actually the Rebel rider. Got it for her back in the spring. She loves it. I like the bike myself, but I'm 6'2" and around 260lbs so the Rebel doesn't like me and I don't fit on it very well. Wish we would have found this site before the Cave City Meet. Could have given some tours of the area. We live almost exactly a mile from the entrance to Mammoth Cave National Park. The ferry is pretty cool to cross on a bike. That picture from the road looked like Park Ridge Road that comes out of Horse Cave and ends up in the park if I am not mistaken. There is a lot of great riding here. Is this an annual event or do yall pick a different location each time? Shoot me an email or PM if there is to be another.

Last years rally was a blast! It's been held for a couple of years, but I haven't heard of anything yet for this year. We did the ferry last year and I thought it was cool.

Bob (not the bear) and I went on a cave tour that actually made me feel privilaged to. It started to down pour topside, and we could see what it was like inside the caverns during the episode. AWESOME!

So anyone know if there is to be a 2011 Cave City meet/rally?

I didn't attend last year and I feel as though I've missed out on the fun. :(

I'll try to make this one if I can.

Cave City is one of the "small bike" rallies that Jim Wilson usually organized. Jim's not talking to me right now, so I don't know if he is planning anything for Cave City this year.

Hmmm...I think I have his email address, maybe I'll just ask him myself. :-)

I know last year the Cave City meet was right after Lake Hope so there were those who couldn't attend (that would include me). Hopefully this year it can be spaced out more. We'll see...
