Just drove in. The last 300 miles of the 500+ mile trip was done in rain.

Eatingest rally we've ever attended.

Here is one of the pictures from dinner Saturday night. Marie is holding BOB on the front row:

This one kind of cracked me up. It's a picture of Jim trying to take a picture of the 3 or 4 250 bikes he had parked up front on the ferryboat in Mammoth Cave Park. Maybe later, Steve can post the picture that Jim took:

One of the stops on the Saturday ride was Lincoln's birthplace, in Kentucky. In this picture, Jim is checking out the cabin where Lincoln was born. Looks like he's trying to decide how many Rebels he could park inside it:

Road wove inside and out of Mammoth Cave Park.

Marie, Delbert, Bob, Logan, Guba, Steve (last bike in view)
Others already over the hill.

BOB was back at the motel .. sitting beside the coffee pot .. tending to his
job, which was to welcome late arrivals.

Barn shot from the hip.

Cameraman caught in the back of the turn signal.

Horse Cave, KY

Bunch of us crowded the overlooking ledge .. bottom left ..until Jim said,
after taking 3 steps back .. "This ledge will only hold 3 people".

Parking line-up directly across the entrance to the cave.

Butch, I think that picture may be from the '09 stop at Horse Cave. I have more bikes in my picture from this year:

One of the interesting sites at the Lincoln Birthplace park is this building:

When you walk inside this huge stone building, you find the log cabin shown in my previous post.

And here is Logan, Pat, Marie & Delbert in front of the building:

Finally, here are the 14 bikes (plus one other biker who joined us here), parked in front of the Nancy Lincoln Inn:

In a couple of other pictures, Wally brought a cake to our Saturday night dinner at the Porky Pig Diner, to celebrate Jim's "retirement":

BOB, sitting at the head of the table:

And Marie feeding some cake to BOB:

AtlAggie, I was just about to PM you and ask if you'd post that shot of the
cake. Saw that you'd posted it on Jim's site. Ours didn't turn out good enough
to read the words.

- RW's shot of the Horse Cave line-up was taken Thursday evening. Yours had
to have been taken on the return trip to the Cave. Fri? Sat?

- GOOD picture of Becca at Bob's table (in the gray jacket)

The 4 people in the foreground of the same picture:

Blade .. orange shirt
Logan .. distinguishing white hair
Donna .. Blade's wife, sitting across him
Pat .. Logan's wife, sitting across him

Blade is Pat's brother. He and Donna came in from Pensacola, FL.

- Back of Marie feeding BOB .. is Jim W's daughter in the blue dress. She.
hubby, and grand-daughter joined us at the Pig Restaurant. They appeared
to thoroughly enjoy the cake presentation.

Across that table are Becky and Charley .. who rode bikes in with Gary & Julie
(immediately behind Becca in her GOOD picture) .. battling very strong winds
from somewhere mid-Indiana. They were exhausted when they arrived late
Friday evening. RW & AtlAggie went to pick them up in vehicles .. they were
at another hotel. We were experiencing sporadic showers.

The rally in Cave City was the first time I had the chance to meet a fantastic group of people :D . I got to eat in Pig, KY, taste pecan pie and cookies that were better than I had heard. And as I said I met people that were so nice and so much fun I hope I will have the chance to go again sometime. It was obvious that a lot of work goes into planning a rally from the rides to other things to keep it interesting. Meeting Bob really made it all the more special. As I tell my husband every time he leaves on his bike " Stay safe and watch out for the idiots on 4 tires". So, all of you do the same!!!

Welcome to the forum, Mimi55 !!!

Gonna have to get you and Blade back up this way real soon.

Pecan pie? RW has whined since Friday night that there was no pecan pie
left for him. He DID sneak off with the last piece of apple pie. Then he
couldn't wait to eat it on our trip back home .. made me feed him while he
was driving. Couldn't wait until we got home. And all I got was an itty-bitty
piece of it. Barely a half teaspoon. Pat makes a mean pie(s).

He can't complain about not getting Marie's cookies. It was so obvious that
he kept stuffing his face with them. Then he kept going on and on about
Becca's fat-free brownies. I had her regular brownies and they were good too.

Guba .. the pies were cut about the time you were caught in the downpour
.. still at the Mammoth Cave. Fortunate for you, Becca had the foresight to
save you a plate of food. Probably not fast enough to grab pie.

I didn't have pecan pie! Somewhere between standing at the huge EMPTY
pot that once held .. maybe 10 minutes before .. piles of barbecued ribs ..
and plowing through a gigantic grilled t-bone steak .. I lost my chance.
The pies were GONE!

Despite some of us missing out on pie .. the variety in food & desserts didn't
leave anyone hungry. (I substitued the word "hungry" for "wanting")
I still want at least ONE barbecued rib and ONE bite of pecan pie!

By the way .. RW chickened out on the fanny pack.

He used an empty coffee can instead

I thought diner wasn't going to be until almost dark, so I opted to wait out the rain...and lost. A big thank you goes out to Becca for saving me a plate! Everything on it was GOOOOOD!

RW, thanks for the coffee can! Made me feel at ease knowing I didn't have to shove something in your fannie...pack. LOL!!! :P

Remembered that 3 others were picture-takers in KY. Didn't see any of their
pictures posted here, then realized that each is "new" so must be running into
that spam-blocker or probationary period (don't know what to call it) before
being able to post pictures.

Guba, Steve, and Butch. (Steve & Guba have attended rallies in the past)

Butch is the newest addition. He dropped in on Saturday at the motel and
stayed through dinner at the Pig. He is the 5th from the left in AtlAggie's
group picture in front of the restaurant. He favored pictures of the bikes. I
was sorta looking forward to some of those bike pictures.

Ok, I got them downloaded so here goes. I didn't get to talk to everyone for very long, and I'm real bad about names so when you see your bike speak up so I can put a name and a usename with the bike. :D

Of course I know who this is!

I've go to run now but I'll post the single bike shots when I get back.

Ok here are the single bike pictures.
This one was on the trailer, he had to get back home.

This one is Guba's

I can't remember the lady's name that owns this Rebel, but I loved her husband 750 Shadow, "sigh" if it had only been an 1100. :D

The next ones I'm not sure of who they belong too.

I loved this ideal by Butch aka RW

Now the Rebel she has been waiting for! :D
