Butch .. you were the person I was concerned with. Didn't want you to make
a long trip to join the group .. then arrive and find them gone. We'll try to
hold Jim back a little.

(He's always jumping up suddenly, deciding that he's
going for a ride then & there. He's the ridingest man I've ever seen. Most times,
some go with him. Then again, there have been times that he's taken off alone)

Maybe his first ride on Saturday morning will be a quick, early breakfast run.

This rally should have people on the ride(s) and some remaining at the motel.

No problem with the Harley rider. RW rides a Dyna Wide Glide. It's name
is Rebel1200. We still allow him to ride with us. Maybe because his jacket
has HONDA blazed across the back. Or that he says he's rebel-whipped.

(the following was just posted to Jim's Yahoo website)

Heard that homemade apple pie is coming with the homemade pecan pies.

If anyone is popping in on Friday, consider hanging around long enough to chow
down.

Will we keep some food for late arrivals? well .. no promises after Jim, Steve
and I hit the tables.

Steve .. you're a Thursday or Friday arrival? Guba too?

Got to get back with Wally for a count of sorts.

More info from Wally .. with some surprises.

- 18 registered, as of today.

With the focus heavy on Lake Hope .. surprised at the number. This is just
the number registered at Wally's. He doesn't know if others are registered
elsewhere. Please let us know. For the food count. Or you get hot dogs
while the aroma of grilled ribs, steaks, pork steaks waft around your head.

- Still rooms available at Wally's.

Did I mention earlier that he cleared out the motel .. where he could, to make
room for us.

- Most registered will be there for 3 nights - Thur, Fri, Sat

I panicked when I learned this. Mainly for the 1st night. Wally's bound to
have something special for the travel-weary bikers. (the exhausted
trailerers too, hah!) This is RW & my traveling day so I can't be much help to him.
Wally doesn't seem one bit concerned that more people will be there
than the handful of last year. I feel that he's actually looking forward to it.

- Bring cash .. and other stuff if you want to add to the feast

Trying to decide how to handle the money for helping out Wally. Don't think
he'd be comfortable with money being handed to him by everyone. So .. I'll take
in the money .. not look at the amount coming in .. each will make his/her
own decision on amount .. and give the accummulation over to Wally.
Maybe at the end of both Thursday and Friday evening. Since diners
may be of different people.

I will wear my fanny pack and diners can thrust their bills into it.

(Of course, the fanny pack is the one I use at casinos, RW. It's the only
one I have. "tee-hee" .. as I rub my hands together.)

Bobby, I think you might want to re-read that invitation. Not real sure how RW will feel if anyone takes you up on it!

Becca and I both have to work Thursday, but we are going to trailer the bike and should make Nashville by Thursday night. I expect to get to Wally's around 9:30 AM Friday.

Tigerlily - it's terrible isn't it .. how one wants to continue the feeling that a
good ride leaves behind. And you miss the riders already. And, yes .. you
think briefly of quitting your job to join everyone again.

Hang tight. There's a rumor that you'll be able to do all that hard work again,
next year. We'll miss you & Mark at Cave City.

AtlAggie & Guba

Caught that, did ya? Wish I had before posting.

Well it will just be me tomorrow. My friend got called to work on Sat. Here is hoping that the rain holds off (I don't have rain gear yet), but if it doesn't I'll hop it the truck and ride up just to meet and take some pictures of the group.

Aggie & Becca made it home safely at about 6:00 ET (5:00 CT).

I was glad I wasn't riding. We were in a steady rain from the time we crossed the Georgia line. I just pulled the trailer in the driveway, and will wait for the rain to stop to unload. I have to leave in the other car in about 1.5 hours to pick up my daughter at the airport.

We had a great time, as usual. I will post some pics tomorrow.

Greg & Becca

I made it in at 11.30CT last night. I turn right on 31W as I was about out of gas and could see the lights of some town that way. I had just hit reserve when a gas station showed up about a mile later. Went through Bowling Green and hit 231 there. I had to stop and get a hoodie since I didn't bring my jacket liner, that was the coldest I have been in a looonnnggg time! But all in all I had a good time, and enjoyed the friendship I found there. I have also picked up a few winter ideals for my bike and will look forward to seeing the group again. LOVED THAT PORK CHOP!!LOL!
