Installed 2 new Pirelli tire on 2009 Honda Rebel. Do they make a pop sound when seated? Also, notice a bounce in front now. Any ideas?

Please describe the bounce and tell us what air pressure is in each tire. 29psi is the owners manual recommendation IIRC.

As airing up a tube tire is usually a slightly slower process, you shouldn't be getting a pop if the tube was free and well distributed. Normally, they are aired with the valve out to get everything "about right", and then the valve is installed in the tube and the tire is re-inflated.

I always deflate a tube type tire after the first fill to relieve any misalignment of the tube. Dusting the inner tube with baby provides a dry lubricant that allows the inner tube to settle into a neutral position in the tire.

Every tire I've ever done has had a pop of sorts when the tire seats on the wheel.

No clue. Its a big red 4' tall thing that has wheels on it. And I had to re-wire it with a new cord two days ago. No more extension cord and it will soon have its own dedicated 20 amp breaker.

I always listen for the pop. I don't equate the noise with a pop, more like a thunk or something like that. That's when I know the tire is seated properly.

And my wee compressor is less than a foot tall. I suspect that I can't deliver air fast enough to get a decent thunk as the tire seats on the rim.

Deflated tires and re-inflated. I didn't hear a pop noise, but they seems to be smooth now. 29 PSI in both rear and front tires.
