I guess I'm one of the only ones who has these and loves them..I got the blue for my 86 rebel which I just had custom painted a heavy metal flake blue..I love how it makes the wheels a big round constant blue circle when riding..I dont ride super fast at night (lots of deer in my area in south jersey), but during the day I sometimes get the bike to 75mph on back roads just for a mile or two to feel like I "blow it out good"..lol. I have had them on my bike for about a year and just installed my second new set as the first finally dimmed on me. No problems at all to speak of, but I am getting a little concerned now reading these posts..To me they are not heavy at all.

Do you feel leds are better technology than conventional light sources?

There's no feel about it, LEDs are far more efficient for light sources that just need to be seen. They are not yet so good for headlights because they are difficult to focus using a reflector.
As far as putting lights on your valve stems...... well whatever floats your boat...Not something I'd be interested in doing.

I've actually had a few people comment on them saying they were cool..It also gets drivers to see me much better at night, and thats all I'm really concerned with. I like to stand out anyway, no matter what I drive. I also have a bright yellow PT cruiser with chrome wheels and a custom back brake light that says "dreamin", so I guess I'm one of those attention seekers...lol
