To be clear, it's almost impossible to get me with the "I really want to buy the thing you have advertised" type gags simply because I don't sell things through online advertising.

Knowing that I don't, I was most amused to find an e-mail from--

well, I'll tell you what; I'll just reprint the thing here:

Hello,

I'm very interested in your add posted on craig's list, is this your add because I was looking at a few listing and I don't know who is who.
Please look and tell me if this is the one.

Is the price right for this posting!!! because I want to buy it 100%!!!

Thanks !

I was most intrigued by the "undisclosed recipients" in the "TO" line instead of just to me. Evidently it was a mass mailing; seems this lady wants to buy everything, all at once!

Then the "I didn't know your ad" thing...

I don't craigslist, but isn't there a direct link on each ad to contact the seller directly?

Anyway, if you hit the link, you are taken to a page that-- well, again, I'll just quote it:

Quote:
craigslist: Account Log In

Really? I _must_ enable cookies to log into my account? Really?

I particularly like the "check for the existence of an account by having your password reset."

How the heck is changing my password going to tell me or anyone else if someone does or does not have an account?

All it's really going to do is let the spammers know your account info.

The biggest tip-off was the address bar, actually:

http://jjokbakso.com/bbs/data/account.craiglist.org/

No matter what page you go to on Craig's List, they are all hosted at Craig's list. None of them are hosted at jjokbakso.com. I suspect this is because not only is jjokbakso an asian-language site, it's a _kanji_ site! (or whatever the word for kanji is in the particular language being written. Looks kind of like Korean to me: lots of "o" shapes in the letters. But what do I know?)

Anyway, if one of you who _does_ happen to do the Craig's List thing would be kind enough to pass this information along to them, you'd be doing the community a service.

Thanks.
